DALLAS – The city of Dallas is the new owner of Adventure Landing in North Dallas.
The 30-year-old entertainment venue featuring go-carts, mini golf, batting cages, an arcade and other amenities is located along Coit Road near the President George Bush Turnpike.
The landowner was selling the property but only getting offers from developers who did not want to carry on the property’s legacy for entertainment.
The city of Dallas said it recognized the need to keep the adjacent soccer fields and preserve the land in the highly developed park desert.
Council members voted to purchase the 13.5-acre property for $13.6 million.
“The legacy property will be preserved for the wholesome family entertainment that Adventure Landing provides. The owners turned down offers from developers for millions of dollars more than the agreed purchase price from the city of Dallas because no developer would agree to carry on their mission,” said Dallas Councilmember Cara Mendelsohn.
“I want to congratulate Dallas on the exciting acquisition of Adventure Landing and the Hildebrand Soccer Fields. This is a monumental step for our city,” said Dallas Councilmember Cara Mendelsohn.
Adventure Landing will continue to operate under the same management and the same name.
