The inquiry began on March 1 when law enforcement received reports of an adult being injured by a dog on Geyser Trail. During the investigation, authorities discovered:

• 47 Rottweilers, 2 American Staffordshire Terriers, a mixed breed terrier, and a cat.
• Many animals were reported to be sick and required immediate medical care.
• The animals were found in alarmingly unsanitary living conditions.

Photographs provided by the Humane Society of North Texas depicted the appalling state of the kennels, with floors covered in feces and urine, highlighting the urgent need for intervention.

Collaboration for Rescue

Multiple animal welfare organizations, including the SPCA of Texas, the Humane Society of North Texas, and various city animal services, coordinated to safely remove the animals from the residence, providing immediate aid to those in critical need.

Possible Legal Consequences

The Watauga Police Department is continuing its investigation, with potential criminal charges on the horizon. However, authorities have not yet disclosed the identities of those involved, as the case remains active.

A Rottie Rescue

Officials confirmed that the property was linked to an organization called A Rottie Rescue. While the organization has removed its website and social media pages, it was previously recognized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to rescuing critically injured or ill Rottweilers.
