Another Tarrant County Mom Arrested In Munchausen Syndrome By Proxy

Lisa Campbell-Goins (Tarrant County Jail)

A Tarrant County mom is facing charges after allegedly medically abusing her daughter.

What We Know: Lisa Campbell-Goins, 56, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with the exploitation of a child, injury to a child, and unlawful restraint.

The Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office said the Munchausen syndrome by proxy case includes the placement of an unnecessary gastric feeding tube in her daughter.

Campbell-Goins is being held in the Tarrant County jail with a bond set at $150,000.

What We Don’t Know: The sheriff’s office didn’t release any other details about the case or the child’s age.

FOX 4 is still waiting for a copy of the arrest warrant affidavit.

What’s Next: Investigators are now looking for anyone who may have donated money to Campbell-Goins through fundraising platforms like GoFundMe.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Det. Michael Weber at 817-884-3749.

What is Munchausen syndrome by proxy?

Munchausen syndrome by proxy is a mental health disorder and a form of possible child abuse in which a caregiver creates the appearance of health problems in another person.

In December, another Tarrant County mother was accused in a similar case.

The sheriff’s office said that for years Denise Zamora lied and manipulated hospital staff and physicians at Cook Children’s Medical Center so that they would perform unnecessary medical treatments on her now 15-year-old daughter.

Zamora is facing nine felony charges related to the case.
