Tragic Crash Leads to Arrests in Arlington
ARLINGTON, Texas – In a devastating incident on Saturday evening, a fiery collision on I-20 claimed the life of a 22-year-old man, leading to the arrest of three individuals, including the presumed intoxicated driver.
Details of the Incident
The unfortunate accident occurred on March 22, 2025, shortly after 7:30 PM. Arlington police responded to reports of a crash involving a pickup truck and a car on the eastbound lanes of I-20 near Bowen Road.
Upon arrival, officers found a 1997 Mitsubishi 3000 GT engulfed in flames. Firefighters worked swiftly to extinguish the blaze, only to discover the remains of the unfortunate driver inside the vehicle.
Initial investigations revealed that the Mitsubishi was parked on the highway shoulder when a 2004 Ford F-150 collided with it. The impact propelled the car into a concrete barrier, igniting the fire.
Eyewitness Accounts
Witnesses reported seeing three men flee the scene immediately after the accident. Police were able to locate and detain all three suspects shortly thereafter.
Arrests Made
The driver of the F-150, identified as 25-year-old Cesar Ramirez Castro, exhibited signs of intoxication. Following a series of sobriety tests, he was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter and causing death through collision. He is currently being held at Arlington City Jail under an immigration hold.
Two passengers in the pickup, 30-year-old Marcelino Ramirez-Ramirez and 24-year-old Daniel Castro Zammarron, were also arrested for public intoxication and are similarly held on immigration holds.
Next Steps
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office has yet to release the identification of the deceased driver, as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding this tragedy.
