CELINA, Texas – Celina dominated Kilgore to win the Texas 4A Division I state championship on Friday night.
The 55-21 win capped off an undefeated season for the Bobcats.
Celina quarterback Bowe Bentley, a junior, threw for 5 touchdowns, going 9-14 through the air for 265 yards. Bentley also added 68 yards on ground.
Bentley was named the game’s offensive MVP.
Wide receiver Colton Rodriguez had 5 catches for 147 yards and two touchdowns.
The Bobcats defense picked off two passes to help the cause.
One of those interceptions was brought in by Luke Biagini, who also had a team-high 9 tackles and half a sack.
Biagini was named the game’s defensive MVP.
It is the ninth state title for Celina and their first since 2007.
