Dallas Man Charged with Murder in Mesquite Road Rage Incident
Mesquite, Texas – A man from Dallas has been charged with murder after a violent altercation believed to stem from road rage.
Shooting Details
On March 3, shortly before 6 p.m., the Mesquite Police Department received reports of a shooting that took place on the service road of I-30 near Gus Thomasson Road.
Upon arrival, officers discovered that a male victim had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim, identified as 45-year-old James Alder from Mesquite, was promptly transported to a medical facility but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter.
Suspect Apprehended
Law enforcement officials were able to track down the suspect’s vehicle and identify the individual involved in the shooting. Early on March 4, police apprehended 50-year-old Rodrick Hanson at his residence in Dallas.
Investigators are operating under the belief that the shooting was initiated as a result of road rage, although specific details about what transpired during the incident have not been disclosed.

While police have shared information regarding the suspect’s arrest, they have not revealed the methods used to locate Hanson or the particulars surrounding the road rage confrontation.
