Dallas Weather: Roads become dangerous overnight
Even though there’s no more snow or sleet falling, the roads in some areas may be the worst so far this week.
DALLAS – A Freezing Fog Advisory has been issued for a large portion of North Texas.
Roads are already beginning to ice up across North Texas with accidents reported across parts of Denton, Tarrant and Collin counties.
DFW Freezing Fog Advisory
The National Weather Service of Fort Worth issued the advisory for the following counties: Collin, Cooke, Dallas, Delta, Denton, Fannin, Grayson, Hopkins, Hunt, Kaufman, Lamar, Montague, Rains, Rockwall, Tarrant, Van Zandt and Wise.

Reports of dangerous road conditions began coming Friday night.
First responders in Denton and Irving say they’ve been responding to multiple crashes with all of their bridges and overpasses icing over.
In McKinney, northbound lanes on Highway 75 at 121 were temporarily shut down due to several car accidents. Police are urging people to stay indoors.
Road conditions are only expected to get worse as any snow and slush will refreeze overnight.
Areas with snow cover will be most prone to fog formation.
With the freezing fog, black ice is likely to form on the roads. Visibility will be below 3 miles.
The advisory is in effect until Saturday at 9 a.m. when temperatures will begin creeping back up.
What is a Freezing Fog Advisory?
The NWS issues an advisory when fog develops and surface temperatures are at or below freezing. The little droplets in the fog can instantly freeze, making roadways slippery and dangerous. Visibilities are typically at or below one mile.
Overnight Forecast
The snow and sleet are over for North Texas. A cold night will have many areas falling below freezing by 9 p.m.
Overnight lows will plunge into the upper teens to our North, where the snow cover is deeper, Other areas will be in the low to mid-20s.
Saturday morning will be foggy, with a chance of roads refreezing in the early hours. By the afternoon, temperatures will climb to the mid-40s under mostly sunny skies.
The warming trend continues next week with dry weather expected through Friday.
