Discover San Antonio Fiesta 2025: A Celebration of Culture and Community

San Antonio’s most anticipated annual celebration, Fiesta, is just around the corner. This year, the festivities will unfold over 11 days, from April 24 to May 4, 2025, showcasing a blend of history, culture, and community spirit.

A Historical Overview

Since its inception in 1891, when the Battle of Flowers Parade honored the heroes of the Alamo, Goliad, and San Jacinto, Fiesta has transformed into a vibrant display of color and camaraderie. By 1895, it had evolved into a weeklong celebration that now encompasses an extensive array of activities, music, food, and philanthropy, under the theme “Fiesta for All.” This year’s event aims not only to celebrate but also to raise funds for local nonprofits and scholarship programs.

Key Events to Attend

With over 100 events planned, finding the highlights can be challenging—so here are some must-attend activities for this year:

Fiesta Fiesta

Kicking off the celebrations on April 24, Fiesta Fiesta will take place at Travis Park from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. This festive gathering will feature live music from DJ Blingleader, Fort Sam’s Own 323d Army Band, and the e7 Band. Attendees can also enjoy a variety of performances leading up to the grand opening ceremony at 8:15 p.m., featuring notable figures such as Mayor Ron Nirenberg and King Antonio CII, Paul Rohlfs Jr.

Fiesta Carnival

The Fiesta Carnival in the Alamodome parking lot runs from April 24 to May 4, offering rides suitable for all ages, alongside traditional carnival snacks such as corn dogs and funnel cakes. Admission to the carnival is free, although ride wristbands can be purchased starting at $28 online.

Fiesta Oyster Bake

A beloved tradition since 1916, the Fiesta Oyster Bake on April 25 and 26 will serve up more than 100,000 oysters. Held at St. Mary’s University, this two-day event supports student scholarships and features live performances from bands like Hoobastank and Sugar Ray. Tickets are available starting from $30 for a one-day pass.

Fiesta De Los Reyes

From April 24 to May 4, Fiesta De Los Reyes at Market Square will present a vibrant array of food and entertainment, showcasing both local and national talents across numerous music stages.

Night in Old San Antonio (NIOSA)

A Night in Old San Antonio, or NIOSA, will celebrate the city’s rich heritage from April 29 to May 2 at La Villita. The event features over 155 food and drink booths along with live entertainment across 14 cultural zones. Tickets are priced at $20 online.

Battle of Flowers Parade

Taking place on May 2, the Battle of Flowers Parade is a unique event produced entirely by women volunteers. This year’s theme is “Melodies in Bloom: A Texas Serenade,” honoring Texas’s musical heritage with a procession of floats and marching bands. The parade begins at 9:55 a.m.

Fiesta Flambeau Parade

As the grand finale of Fiesta, the Fiesta Flambeau Parade will take place on May 3. This illuminated night parade, themed “Deep in the Art of Texas,” promises to light up downtown San Antonio with extensive artistic displays and performances.

King William Fair and Parade

On May 3, the King William Fair will transform the historic King William neighborhood into a vibrant hub of art, music, and gastronomy. Attendees can enjoy the parade and a variety of artistic and culinary offerings.

Safety Measures and Accessibility

This year, enhanced safety measures will be implemented, including perimeter fencing and metal detectors at event entrances. Attendees are advised to adhere to the bag policy, allowing only smaller-sized bags to ensure a smooth entry process.
