FORT WORTH, Texas – Fort Worth showed off its renovations at its Will Rogers Memorial Center.
Along with the upgrades to the center, barns for sheep and swine have also been spruced up.
The animals of the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo now have upgraded holding pens as well as the show arena where they get to prance and shine.
“These are very complex projects, and this beautiful space is today owned by the residence of the city, the city of Fort Worth,” said Fort Worth Mayor Mattie Parker.
Stage three of a four-phase plan is complete at Will Rogers Memorial Center.
Facilities constructed in 1948, especially for the stock show, are now ready for multipurpose events.
“Where we are standing right now, where we’re going to have a sheep and goat show in one month,” said stock show spokesperson Matt Brockman. “The month after that, we can hold a banquet, a tradeshow, horse show, things like that. So just bringing that added value to the Will Rogers Memorial Center in the city of Fort Worth is tremendous.”
Nearly $40 million are being spent on renovations. The expense is being split evenly between the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo and the city of Fort Worth.
The 2025 theme for the upcoming stock show will be “Hustle and Show.”
There will be the familiar, and lucrative competitions — but also some shiny new facilities to welcome more than 1.2 million visitors from around the world.
“As I look across the room, I’m reminded of what makes Fort Worth truly special: our people,” the mayor said. “It’s the events where there is legacy, history, probably none more important than the Fort Worth Stock Show.”
“Right here in Fort Worth and the surrounding counties is the epicenter of the western equestrian competitive world.”
The stock show and rodeo runs from Jan. 17 through Feb. 8.
