A man accused of kidnapping a woman in Haltom City on Christmas Eve was arrested in Oklahoma City on Christmas Day.
What We Know: Eduardo Javier Ordonez Godoy, 35, from Honduras, is facing charges in Haltom City for aggravated kidnapping and aggravated robbery. He’s also facing charges in Oklahoma City for unauthorized use of a vehicle; use of a firearm while committing a felony; receiving, possessing, or concealing stolen property; and carrying or possessing a firearm by an illegal alien.
Haltom City police said a 22-year-old woman was walking to her vehicle around 4:45 a.m. on Christmas Eve when she was taken at gunpoint from Acacia Apartments on Denton Highway.
Authorities said Godoy forced the woman into her vehicle, made several threats toward her and made her withdraw money from a bank before being taken to Camden Apartments in Grapevine.
Police said the woman was briefly restrained but managed to escape and find help.
Godoy fled in the victim’s vehicle and was located by police in Oklahoma City on Christmas Day and taken into custody.
What’s Next: Police said Godoy could face additional charges as the investigation continues.
Haltom City detectives interviewed Godoy in Oklahoma City and say he admitted to the crime.
Police said Godoy is on an ICE detainer because of his immigration status.
Godoy is currently housed in the Oklahoma County Detention Center.
