This year’s festivities will kick off with the inaugural Berry Bash Musical set for April 10. Attendees can expect a lively atmosphere with food, carnival rides, and entertainment throughout the weekend.

Berry Bash Musical Featuring David Lee Garza y Los Musicales

Headlining the Berry Bash will be Tejano star David Lee Garza y Los Musicales, who will perform from 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Garza aims to get attendees dancing with a mix of his well-loved classic songs and new tunes.

Reflecting on his long-standing connection with the festival, Garza stated, “When I see people dancing, I feel we are doing the best we can.” This sentiment underscores his dedication to creating an enjoyable experience for all guests.

A Legacy of Community and Education

The Poteet Strawberry Festival has been a staple in the community since its inception in 1948, originally intended to highlight the region’s famous strawberries. Over the years, the festival has also contributed to the community by awarding scholarships to local students pursuing higher education.

Food and Festivities Await

In collaboration with Jack Daniels, this year’s festival will introduce a new beverage, “Strawberry Punch,” for festivalgoers to enjoy from the opening day onward.

Garza fondly recalled his own experiences at the festival, reminiscing about the food and particularly the beloved strawberry shortcake booth that has become a crowd favorite.

Festival Details and Admission

The Berry Bash will take place at the Poteet Strawberry Festival Association Festival Grounds located at 9199 N. State Hwy 16 in Poteet. Admission to the event is free with registration.

The main festival runs from April 11 to 13, with ticket prices starting at $10 for Friday and $20 for Saturday and Sunday when purchased online. Tickets at the gate will be priced higher. More details can be found on the festival website.
