Teen Driver Collides with Farmers Branch Police SUV
FARMERS BRANCH, Texas – An unlicensed teenager lost control of his vehicle, resulting in a collision with a police patrol SUV while the officer attended to a traffic stop.
The Incident
The crash occurred on Friday, April 4, 2025, on Mount Castle Drive. According to the Farmers Branch Police Department, the young driver was attempting to change lanes on wet road surfaces when he lost control of his truck, leading to the accident.
Video Evidence
Surveillance footage captured the moment the truck slammed into the police vehicle, which had an officer leaning into it at the time. Fortunately, the officer was able to react quickly and grabbed the steering wheel of the patrol vehicle, preventing himself from being dragged underneath.
Injuries and Charges
Both the officer and the teenage driver reported minor injuries from the incident. However, the circumstances surrounding the crash have resulted in the driver facing charges for operating a vehicle without a license and for driving without insurance.
