Mexico’s Aeromexico has been named the world’s most on-time airline in 2024.

Cirium, an aviation analytics company, has been timing and tracking flights for 16 years and provides an annual On-Time Performance Review of airlines and airports around the globe.

Its latest report was published Jan. 2, and reveals which airlines and airports are the most punctual.

Here’s a look at the data:

Most on-time flights

An on-time flight is defined as a flight that arrives within 15 minutes of the scheduled gate arrival time.

Globally, Aeromexico topped the list with 86.7% of its flights arriving on time.

Saudia followed closely as the runner-up with 86.35%, while Delta Air Lines secured third place with 83.46%. In North America, Delta snagged the No. 1 spot.

Delta came out on top despite its computer meltdown in July that resulted in an abnormally high number of flight cancelations.

All airlines faced several challenges outside of airline control last year, such as weather patterns and a shortage of air-traffic controllers.

Globally, King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, took top honors as the most punctual airport with 86.65% of its flights departing on time.

The large U.S. airport that scored the highest was Honolulu International Airport, with 85.45% of flights departing on time.

In the U.S., Salt Lake City International Airport, New York LaGuardia Airport, Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport, Washington Dulles International Airport, Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport, Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, Los Angeles International Airport, Philadelphia International Airport and Seattle-Tacome International Airport also made the top 20 list.
