President-elect Donald Trump said Friday that he will nominate former NFL player and White House aide Scott Turner as housing and urban development (HUD) secretary.
The HUD secretary assists communities in providing fair and equal housing and advises the president on housing and community development programs, activities, and federal policy.
Turner ran the White House Opportunity and Revitalization Council during Trump’s first term in office. Trump, in a statement, credited Turner, the highest-ranking Black person he’s yet selected for his administration, with “helping to lead an Unprecedented Effort that Transformed our Country’s most distressed communities.”
Trump also said on Friday he would nominate Scott Bessent to lead Treasury Department, Russel Vought to lead the Office of Management and Budget and Lori Chavez-DeRemer to lead the Labor Department.
