Investigation Underway in Fatal South Dallas Shooting
DALLAS – Authorities are currently probing a shooting incident that occurred early Sunday morning, leading to the deaths of two individuals and leaving another injured in South Dallas.
Details of the Incident
The unfortunate event took place at approximately 3:30 a.m. near the intersection of Elsie Faye Heggins Street and South Malcolm X Boulevard. According to Dallas Police, a sizeable group was congregated in a nearby parking lot when a vehicle approached and opened fire into the assembly.
Eyewitness accounts indicate that members of the crowd responded by firing back at the vehicle as it fled the scene.
Victims Identified
Following the shooting, two women were transported to a local hospital for emergency treatment. A third person, identified as 28-year-old Jaqualin Kemp, was taken to the hospital in a private vehicle but succumbed to his injuries.
Of the two women, 27-year-old Curtisha Dowell was confirmed deceased from her wounds. The condition of the second female victim remains stable, though further details about her health are not available.
