FORT WORTH, Texas – Fort Worth Police are investigating a suspected murder suicide that happened Saturday afternoon in west Fort Worth.
Police were called around 4:45 p.m. to an apartment complex near N Normandale Street and Buckskin Run Street, which is near where I-820 and I-30 intersect in west Fort Worth. Officers were told a person had been shot.
When officers arrived, they found a female victim in the parking lot, who appeared to have been shot multiple times.
She was taken to the hospital in critical condition. She later died at the hospital.
Investigators say officers began searching for the suspected shooter and at 5:52 p.m., the male suspect was found on the North Freeway northbound near Westport Pkwy.
The suspect did not stop and a chase started.
Police say the suspect eventually stopped near 10001 N Fwy. Southbound. Investigators believe the man shot himself. He died at the scene.
According to Fort Worth Police, no officers fired their weapons.
There were no officers or civilians injured.
The victim and suspect’s identities have not been released.
The case is under investigation.
