Feud Erupts Between Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence Over Dallas Cowboys Comments

DALLAS – The rivalry between former Dallas Cowboys teammates Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence has intensified following a series of public exchanges on social media.

Background of the Dispute

On March 12, 2025, DeMarcus Lawrence, a recognizable name in Dallas, signed a lucrative three-year contract worth up to $42 million with the Seattle Seahawks. Just a day after this announcement, he participated in an interview where his remarks about the Cowboys ignited fierce reactions.

During the interview, Lawrence stated, “Dallas is my home… But I know for sure I’m not gonna win a Super Bowl there.” This comment seemingly struck a nerve with Parsons, prompting him to voice his disagreement on social media.

Social Media Exchanges

In a pointed response to Lawrence’s statements, Parsons tweeted, “This what rejection and envy look like! This some clown s***,” adding a clown emoji for emphasis. Such a bold remark only fueled the flames of an already simmering rivalry between the two players.

Lawrence did not hold back in his reply; he countered Parsons’ statement by saying, “Calling me a clown won’t change the fact that I told the truth. Maybe if you spent less time tweeting and more time winning, I wouldn’t have left.” This comment highlighted an ongoing critique concerning the Cowboys’ playoff performance during their tenure together.

Pre-existing Tensions

The feud appears to be rooted in a deeper history. According to comments made by Bobby Belt of 105.3 The Fan, Parsons and Lawrence reportedly had a rocky relationship during their time on the Cowboys, with tensions surfacing especially after the team’s disappointing loss to the Green Bay Packers in the 2023-2024 NFL playoffs.

Belt remarked, “The simple fact is Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence were at odds pretty frequently during their time here in Dallas together. It was not something that just sprung up here in free agency.” He noted that issues regarding accountability and differing viewpoints on team dynamics were evident.
