Fort Worth, Texas – The Texas Christian University (TCU) women’s basketball team is celebrating a historic achievement as they secure their place in the Sweet 16 of the 2025 NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament, marking a first for the program.

Game Recap: TCU 85, Louisville 70

The Lady Horned Frogs showcased an impressive performance against the Louisville Cardinals during the second round of the tournament, culminating in an 85-70 victory. Notably, TCU dominated the momentous outing with a remarkable 17-point scoring streak that seized momentum between the first and second quarters.

Key players included Agnes Emma-Nnopu, who notched a season-high 23 points, and Donovyn Hunter, contributing 18 points to help secure the win. Their phenomenal shooting, particularly from long range, established a solid foundation for TCU’s success.

Coaching Insights

In a post-game interview, Head Coach Mark Campbell reflected on the team’s dedication and hard work this season. “It’s just neat to see young people work really hard at their craft and for it to be rewarded in a game like this in a stage like this. It’s awesome,” he remarked, underscoring the significance of this victory for the team and the program.

Looking Ahead

With this victory, TCU advances to face the No. 3 seed Notre Dame in the upcoming round, aiming for a place in the Elite Eight. The match is scheduled for Saturday at the Legacy Arena in Birmingham, Alabama, although the exact time is yet to be announced.
