IRVING, Texas – The Small Business Administration (SBA) is actively providing support to individuals affected by the recent storm-related damages in Dallas County.
Dallas County Storm Overview
The situation unfolded when an EF-1 tornado, registering wind speeds of up to 110 miles per hour, touched down briefly in Irving on March 4. The tornado left a trail of destruction, notably impacting an apartment complex alongside nearby residences.
In addition to tornado damage, powerful winds resulted in widespread power outages that affected hundreds of thousands of residents across North Texas.
SBA Assistance for Affected Individuals
In response to the storm’s impact, the SBA is offering low-interest disaster loans to help Dallas County residents recover from their losses. This assistance is available to:
- Homeowners and renters seeking funds to cover property damage or loss, which includes vehicles affected by the storm.
- Small businesses and nonprofit organizations that experienced property damage or a decline in revenue due to the storms.
How to Apply for Assistance
Eligible applicants can conveniently apply for assistance online at SBA’s lending portal.
For those who prefer in-person assistance or have questions, SBA representatives will be present at the Lively Pointe Youth Center on O’Connor Road in Irving. The center will be open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. until April 11, and while walk-ins are accepted, appointments are encouraged for a smoother experience.
