On March 22, law enforcement officials responded to reports of a vehicle submerged in the Trinity River at the intersection near Beach Street and East Freeway. Upon arrival, police discovered Melanie Robinson, 38, inside the vehicle. She was extricated and transported to a local medical facility but unfortunately succumbed to her injuries three days later, on March 25.

Tragically, her son, Jonas Allen, was found within the vehicle approximately 18 hours after it was reported. The circumstances surrounding their recovery have raised significant concerns, prompting local police to investigate the incident as a homicide.

Fort Worth police have determined that Robinson deliberately drove her car into the river. While the specifics behind this conclusion remain confidential, authorities emphasized that they currently lack the ability to disclose the evidence that led to this determination.
